International and temporary protection


International protection applicant
International protection applicants are third-country nationals or stateless persons who express an intention to apply for international protection and they hold this status until the decision concerning their application becomes enforceable.

Asylum and subsidiary protection
Asylum or subsidiary protection is granted to persons whose life would be at risk if they returned to their country of origin

Temporary protection
Temporary protection is granted when foreign nationals come to Croatia in large numbers from a country in which human rights have been violated due to war or a similar situation, indiscriminate violence or internal conflicts
