Workshop of the IMM with MoI Representatives
On Friday, 28 March 2025, the workshop titled “Discussion on the Findings of the Independent Monitoring Mechanism and Border Control Activities” took place. It was organised by the Independent Monitoring Mechanism (IMM) with the active participation of approx. 50 representatives of the Ministry of the Interior (MoI) from across Croatia. The workshop was held in a hybrid format, both in person in Zagreb and online, bringing together members of the IMM Coordination Board, IMM’s monitors and associates, as well as MoI representatives.
During a series of concise presentations, the workshop introduced to its participants the recommendations from IMM’s Semi-Annual Report. Discussions also focused on the MoI’s Action Plan, the Recommendations of the Advisory Board to the IMM and IMM’s Response to said Recommendations, all with the overarching aim of enhancing the protection of migrants’ fundamental rights. The event also served as a platform for IMM’s monitors to share their experiences from on-the-ground observations and enabled the exchange of best practices in operational cooperation with police officers in border areas.
